The Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Hotel and Residences is a major luxury development situated on a premium 7.1-acre site along the southern end of the famed Seven Mile Beach. Marking the return of the Hyatt brand to the island, the project is designed as a destination resort featuring approximately 350 units, which include a mix of traditional hotel guestrooms and branded residential condominiums. The property is poised to become a significant hub for leisure and business, boasting world-class amenities such as three resort-style swimming pools, a 12,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, six distinct dining venues, and the largest indoor-outdoor conference space in the Cayman Islands.
The residential component of the project offers a unique ownership opportunity with studio, one, two, and three-bedroom configurations that emphasize indoor-outdoor living with spectacular ocean views. Owners have access to a voluntary rental program, allowing them to lease their units to hotel guests when not in use, effectively combining a vacation home with an investment property.

Role: As Senior Estimator via Americaribe on the Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Hotel and Residences, I spearheaded the comprehensive cost management and procurement strategy for this complex luxury development. I was responsible for developing detailed quantity take-offs and budget models for the 7.1-acre resort, encompassing 350+ hotel and residential units, extensive podium structures, and high-end amenities. My role involved leading value engineering workshops to reconcile design intent with the client’s budget, managing scope leveling for major trade packages, and navigating the unique logistical cost factors of Caribbean island construction to ensure a financially viable execution plan for the project.
