Currently under construction by the premier general contractor Americaribe, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences at Tropicalia is poised to become a landmark of sustainable luxury in the Dominican Republic. Located along the pristine, aquamarine shores of Playa Esmeralda in Miches, this visionary development is being meticulously crafted to blend seamless sophistication with the region’s breathtaking natural beauty. Americaribe’s expertise in high-stakes, high-quality construction ensures that every detail of the 95-key resort and 25 private residences meets the exacting standards of the Four Seasons brand. By leveraging advanced sustainable building practices and low-carbon materials, the construction team is bringing to life a tropical modernist masterpiece that honors its ecological setting while delivering a world-class hospitality experience.
This ambitious project is fundamentally redefining island living by moving beyond traditional luxury to offer a lifestyle of "regenerative elegance" that exists in perfect harmony with nature. Designed by renowned architect Isay Weinfeld, the property features low-impact structures that float above the landscape, blurring the lines between indoor comfort and the lush, wild outdoors. Residents and guests will experience a new caliber of privacy and immersion, from the LEED-certified sustainability standards to amenities that include a Tom Doak golf course and holistic wellness centers. By prioritizing environmental stewardship without compromising on opulence, Tropicalia establishes a new paradigm for Caribbean living—one where modern indulgence and ecological preservation enrich one another.

Role: As Senior Estimator via Americaribe on the Tropicalia project, Santiago occupied a critical strategic position where the ambitious vision of "redefining island living" met financial reality. His role went far beyond traditional number-crunching; he was responsible for meticulously forecasting the costs associated with constructing a LEED-certified, ultra-luxury resort in the remote, pristine environment of Miches. This involved navigating complex logistical challenges—from pricing the sourcing of low-carbon, locally harvested materials to calculating the intricate labor and supply chain requirements needed to execute architect Isay Weinfeld’s tropical modernist design without compromising the site's ecological integrity. By balancing these high-stakes variables, Santiago ensured that Americaribe could deliver the Four Seasons’ exacting standards of opulence and sustainability, effectively translating a blueprint for regenerative luxury into a viable, constructible budget.
